SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE

Sanctity of Human Life is celebrated the closest Sunday to the anniversary of Roe v. Wade but at Positive Choices we open it up for the whole month. It’s not a political event, rather just a time for churches to hear more about the issue of life, what God’s heart about life is, and how their congregation can become more engaged in protecting life in Alabama.

HOW CAN MY CHURCH GET INVOLVED?

There are multiple ways your church can get involved in Sanctity of Human Life Sunday!

1. Invite A Speaker

Your church can have a Pregnancy Center Speaker. You decide the length of time appropriate for your service. We usually share a little about what Sanctity of Human Life is, what Positive Choices is, and how individuals can get involved at Positive Choices. (Some pastors take this time, to preach a sermon on the value of life as well.”)

2. Bulletin Insert

If you do not wish to have a speaker, Positive Choices can give you a bulletin insert (or blurb, whatever best suits your church.) which talks about Sanctity of Human Life and Positive Choices.

3. Show a Video

Some churches like to show a video promoting Sanctity of Human Life. From using videos in Sunday school classes, youth group services, women’s meetings and Sunday morning services, VePositive Choices can provide you with a few choices of a video to pick from.

4. Special Offering

Churches who wish to financially support Positive Choices can take this opportunity to take up a special offering or start a Baby Bottle drive (where families fill baby bottles provided by Positive Choices with loose change).

5. Table in Your Foyer

A few churches like for Positive Choices to have a table in their foyer which the pastor will mention to the congregation. Anyone interested in Positive Choices can talk to the volunteer at the table.

Stories for Life

When Sarah became pregnant, her mother said she wasn’t mature enough to parent a child. She told Sarah to have an abortion – and even scheduled an abortion appointment. That’s when a relative intervened and brought Sarah to Positive Choices. A client advocate shared the truth about Christ and the unborn with Sarah. Then she saw her unborn baby – and heard her baby’s heartbeat – through an ultrasound. Sarah decided she wanted to become a mother. She chose life. And she never made it to her abortion appointment. Today Sarah is mom to a precious baby boy. She’s still receiving support and encouragement from her relative and her friends at Positive Choices.
